John Gutleber
Named Chairman of the
C.W. Post Real Estate Practitioners Institute
John J. Gutleber, president and CEO of the real estate
development and management firm Castagna Realty Company, has been
named chairman of the Board of Directors of the Real Estate Practitioners
Institute of the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.
Founded in 1972 and headquartered at the C.W. Post Campus in Brookville
since 1998, the Real Estate Practitioners Institute provides continuing
education services, seminars, white papers and luncheons that address
topics of interest to regional real estate practitioners. The mission
of the Institute is to promote professionalism, ethics and education
within the various segments of the real estate industry.
Together with C.W. Post’s Department of Continuing Education
and Professional Studies (CEPS), which has been meeting the educational
needs of professionals for more than 40 years, the Institute designs
New York State-approved certificate programs that focus on commercial,
industrial and residential real estate sales, real estate financing,
and ethics and standards of professional practice.
Serving with Gutleber on the Board of Directors are 38 real estate
professionals, including: Matthew Whalen of Garden City, vice president
of development, AvalonBay Communities; Michael Harris Spector of
Old Westbury, principal, Spector Group; Jeffrey Barber of Plainview,
first vice president, State Bank of Long Island; Theresa Elkowitz
of Belle Terre, principal, Freudenthal and Elkowitz Consulting Group;
Vincent Ferro, Esq. of East Islip, senior vice president and counsel,
First American Title Insurance Company of New York; and Daniel Gulizio
of Huntington, land use consultant.
