C.W. Post Webcast ‘So you wanna job…’
Honored by College Career Planning Officers Association

Brookville, N.Y. – “So you wanna job...,” the talk webradio program of career advice broadcast by the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, has won an award for outstanding contributions to college career planning from the organization of New York-area college career advisors.

The Metropolitan New York College Career Planning Officers Association presented its Alva C. Cooper Award to Darlene London Johnson, former assistant director, and Jason Cascone, senior associate director of career development, at C.W. Post’s Office of Professional Experience and Career Planning.

Johnson and Cascone are the creators, producers and hosts of “So you wanna job…,” which tackles topics such as job searches, interviewing and networking, along with advice on entering particular fields like medicine or music, handling workplace stress and even starting a home business. “So you wanna job…” has been continuously produced since February 2005. Along with practical how-to advice, the show examines topics such as women’s issues in the workplace, relocation strategies and the effects of outsourcing and immigrant labor on the economy, with appearances by experts from the C.W. Post faculty and from Long Island and New York City businesses.

Johnson and Cascone also have produced a spin-off called “Life After High School,” a special series for high school students and on what to expect in college and how to prepare for it.
