Online M.B.A. Class in Corporate Mergers
Now Available at C.W. Post
Students in the M.B.A. program at the C.W. Post
Campus of Long Island University in Brookville can now register
for a new online elective course, “Corporate Mergers and
Restructuring Strategies,” beginning in September 2007.
The three-credit graduate course (FIN710) will be offered in the
Fall semester and will be taught by Professor George Andreadis.
It is open to students who have completed their core courses.
The aim of the course is to help students understand
the decisional dynamics and valuation consequences of financial,
business and organizational restructuring by corporate units.
Students will be prepared to plan, evaluate and execute corporate
restructuring activities.
During the course, students will engage in weekly
discussions with the professor and fellow students and complete
weekly assignments and a term project from any computer that has
Internet access. The online course is designed to give students
the flexibility to participate any time of the day or night, at
their convenience. Additionally, students will be expected to
participate in live, online sessions throughout the course.

The C.W. Post College of Management’s undergraduate
and graduate business programs carry the elite accreditation of
AACSB International - the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools
of Business. In September, the College launched a new, accelerated
B.S./M.B.A. in Business Administration program, which can be completed
in as little as five years. The College of Management also is
home to the nation’s first School of Professional Accountancy,
which offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs
in accountancy and taxation, and the School of Public Service,
which has degrees in criminal justice, health care administration,
public administration and social work.
