Brookville's Mayor Goodwin to Lead C.W. Post Homecoming Parade

Richard P. Goodwin, Mayor of the Village of Brookville, will serve as grand marshal of the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University's homecoming parade on Saturday, October 6, 2007. The parade will step off at 10 a.m. at C.W. Post's east gate and proceed a quarter mile down Gold Coast Road to Hickox Field, which is the site of the homecoming football game, barbecue and carnival festivities. This year the C.W. Post Pioneers will tackle Bryant University. Kickoff is at 12 noon.

Mayor Goodwin will lead a procession of student-created floats, colorful club banners, cheerleaders, "Post Pride" award finalists, student clubs and organizations, sororities and fraternities, the pep band and bagpipers. This year's theme is "Wonders of the World." Mayor Goodwin has served as Brookville's mayor since 1992.

“We are delighted that Village of Brookville Mayor Richard P. Goodwin will once again serve as our grand marshalof the float parade,” said Dr. Joseph Shenker, Provost, C.W. Post Campus. “Homecoming at C.W. Post is truly a community event. We are happy to have our Brookville neighbors along with C.W. Post alumni, students, faculty and staff celebrate this campus tradition.”

Admission to the float parade is free. Admission to the barbecue, which includes the football game and activities, is $15 for adults; $7 for children under 8 years of age; free for children 3 years of age and under.
