Training Sessions - Learning How to Educate and Include Students with Disabilities
Brookville and Riverhead, NY – Free training and support are being offered to families of children with developmental disabilities, educators, students and community members at Long Island University’s C.W. Post Campus in Brookville, and at its newest site in Riverhead. Funded by the Long Island Developmental Disabilities Service Office and coordinated by the Down Syndrome Advocacy Foundation (DSAF), and Dr. Kathleen Feeley from the Department of Special Education and Literacy at C. W. Post, attendees will learn state-of-the-art strategies to help support students with disabilities in the community and in school. Lunch will be provided and childcare reimbursement up to $80 is available.
Presenters include Emily A. Jones, Ph.D., B.C.B.A., professor of psychology at the C.W. Post Campus and an expert in the field of autism and developmental disabilities; Sanja Cale, Ph.D., a faculty member at the Long Island University Graduate Program at Riverhead and Irene Morsch, M.A., B.C.B.A., a project coordinator at C.W. Post.
The training will be conducted at three locations across Long Island.
