Post Theatre Company Presents Performances for March/April 2008
Performances include two Shakespeare adaptations, a freshman showcase and a round-up of final scenes by young directors

Brookville, N.Y. - Adaptations of Shakespeare highlight the spring schedule of performances of the Post Theatre Company, the not-for-profit resident theater company of the Department of Theatre, Film and Dance on the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.

"As You Like It (Not As You Know It)" and "Brush Up Your Shakespeare: A Cabaret," along with "First Year Showcase," a freshman class presentation, and "Directing Scenes," a variety of final scenes taken from comedic and dramatic plays, will be staged at C.W. Post's Little Theatre Mainstage and Rifle Range Theatre.

In "As You Like It (Not As You Know It)," with seven actors in 15 roles, it's no wonder the Forest of Arden rings with confusion and laughter. Follow the laughs and come join the fun! "As You Like It (Not As You Know It)" will run Feb. 29 through March 2 and from March 4-9 at 8 p.m. (Sundays at 3 p.m.) at the Little Theatre Mainstage. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for students and seniors, general admission seating.

"Brush Up Your Shakespeare: A Cabaret," depicts the Bard as translated by mistrals of all eras in an evening of song, in a cabaret atmosphere. The performance runs from March 28-30 at 8 p.m. at the Rife Range Theatre. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for students and seniors, general admission seating.

"First Year Showcase" features freshman theatre majors in a production as they apply their training for the first time in front of an audience. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for students and seniors, general admission seating.

"Directing Scenes," a culmination of coursework by talented young directors, features final scene presentations. The performance runs from April 11-13 at 8 p.m. (Sunday at 3 p.m.) Admission is free.
