Winners of the C.W. Post/Forensics World 2008 CSI Challenge
The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University wishes to congratulate the winners of the 2008 C.W. Post/Forensics World CSI Challenge. The competition was held on April 4, 2008 at Suffolk County Community College's Grant campus in Brentwood.
First Place - St. Francis Preparatory School, Fresh Meadows, N.Y.
Second Place - Earl L Vandermeulen High School, Port Jefferson, N.Y.
Third Place - Brooklyn Technical High School, Brooklyn, N.Y.
More than 700 Long Island high school students put their forensic science skills to the ultimate test to solve a murder mystery. The winning teams who meet admissions criteria will receive scholarships to the C.W. Post Campus for the fall semester. The scholarships can be applied toward bachelor's degrees in forensic science, criminal justice, political science, biomedical sciences or the pre-law or pre-med programs. First-place team members received $3,000 in scholarships to C.W. Post, per year, worth $12,000 over four years. Second-place team members received $2,000 per year; third-place team members received $1,000 per year.
