Summer Paralegal Program at C.W. Post to Begin May 5

Three-month program leads to certification in fast-growing field

Brookville, N.Y. -- Classes will begin Monday, May 5 in the paralegal studies program at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University - a three-month program leading to certification in a well-paying career with rapidly expanding opportunities.

Offered by C.W. Post's Continuing Education and Professional Studies Department and approved by the American Bar Association, the paralegal courses cover topics including ethics, contracts, litigation, probate and criminal, matrimonial and real estate law.

Employment opportunities for paralegals are expected to increase much faster than average in the coming years, according to the U.S. Labor Department. The median paralegal salary in the New York metropolitan area is $50,350, with the middle 50 percent earning between $40,220 and $60,670.

Resources in the C.W. Post paralegal studies program include a paralegal library; small classes and experienced instructors; training in the Lexis and Westlaw legal research systems and other computer applications; an internship program and employment assistance for all graduates.

Tuition for the program is $4,200, plus a $40 lab fee. Financial assistance is available. Courses are held Monday through Friday, May 5 through Aug. 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the C.W. Post Continuing Education and Professional Studies Center at 57 Northern Boulevard in Greenvale, N.Y. (the Chase Manhattan Bank building.) Ample free parking is available.
