C.W. Post Students Sweep the Competition for the 35th Annual BOLI Awards
Brookville, N.Y. - Digital arts students from the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University swept the 34th annual student division at the Long Island Advertising Club's Best of Long Island Awards (BOLI). This marks the fifth year that C.W. Post dominated the competition.
C.W. Post students participating in the contest created an advertising campaign for the Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium. Located in Centerport, the 43-acre historic site encompasses a mansion, a marine museum, natural history habitats, a curator's cottage, seaplane hanger, boathouse and numerous other estate features. Exhibits, programs and tours are dedicated to educating visitors of Long Island's Gold Coast era.
"It was great creating campaigns for such an important Long Island landmark that is rich with heritage and distinction," said Patrick Aievoli, a professor in C.W. Post's Interactive Multimedia Arts program and teaching supervisor for the student competitors.
Each year, LIAC awards BOLI Awards to advertising agencies, advertisers, firms that serve the industry as well as students. Judges from across the country assess submitted ad campaigns. Entrants can submit work covering all aspects of communication.
Student categories are open to all students who attend universities and colleges on Long Island, Queens and Brooklyn, and who have never been employed (excluding internships).
Awards were given in four categories: BOLI, Gold, Silver and Bronze. C.W. Post students who received the BOLI Award are Ann Marie Blatt of Nesconset, NY, Rocco Gennaro of New Hyde Park, NY, Zachery Scher of East Setauket, NY, and Jenna Sulin of Wantagh, NY. Gold awards went to Arthur Boos of Bayshore, NY, Jennifer Nelson of Amityville, NY, Joseph Shanley of Wantagh, NY and Renee Reid of Troy, NY.
