"Put Your Junk in Our Truck" Recycling Program

"Put Your Junk in Our Truck" was sponsored by the student-run Nutrition Club at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University this spring. As students cleaned out their residence hall rooms and prepared to head out for the summer, rather than dispose of reusable items, they were encouraged to donate what they no longer needed. Reusable items such as books, clothing, furniture, small refrigerators, microwaves, televisions, radios and anything else that the students considered "junk" were donated to area agencies.

Students said they were glad to do their part to reduce the amount of garbage that would be thrown away and, at the same time, donate to a good cause. Everything was sorted and then donated to charitable area agencies serving Long Island.
