Faculty Celebrate 30 and 40 Years of Service to C.W. Post

Brookville, N.Y. –Fifteen members of the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University were honored for 30 and 40 years of service at the commencement exercises on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, 2008.
The professors served as part of the platform party at Commencement led by platform marshal Roger Goldstein, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Political Science/International Studies, who himself was honored for 40 years of service to the University. A celebratory brunch followed the ceremony.
The 30-year faculty members are: Robert Bertucelli, director, Tax and Accounting Institute, professor of accountancy; Linda Wenze, associate professor of health care and public administration; Margaret Boorstein, chair, Earth and Environmental Science Department, professor of geography; Michael Soupios, professor of political science; William Roberson, professor, library, head librarian; Manju Prasad-Rao, associate professor, library, head, Instructional Media Center; and Margaret Hallissy, professor of English.
The 40-year faculty members include: Thomas Bowman, professor of education; Genevieve Chinn, director, Music History, professor of music; Roger Goldstein, chair of the Political Science/International Studies Department, professor of political science; Walter Heimer, associate professor of psychology; Hoyt Hobbs, chair, Philosophy Department, professor of philosophy; Stewart Karp, professor of chemistry; Stanley Klein, professor of political science; and Ronald Minge, professor of education.
"We are proud of our honorees and extend our gratitude to them for all they have accomplished in their respective careers and for their ongoing dedication to the C.W. Post community," said Dr. Joseph Shenker, provost of the C.W. Post Campus.
