“The Saturday classes at C.W. Post were a huge benefit. When I started the program, I was working full-time, raising an infant and getting an M.B.A. Without those Saturday classes, I might not have been able to earn my degree.”

Kenny Ng of Huntington knew a Master of Business Administration degree would help him achieve his goal of moving into management and offer a measure of protection during a sluggish economy. But between his family life and a demanding job as a senior programmer analyst with Nortel Networks in Bohemia, there was little time left for study.

Despite these challenges, Ng found exactly what he needed at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University: the Saturday M.B.A., a 48-credit program offered on Saturday mornings and afternoons that takes less than two years to complete. He graduated in May and has his sights set on advancing his career.

In today's uncertain economy, the knowledge and skills that come with an M.B.A. are more important than ever. The Saturday M.B.A. program at C.W. Post makes it convenient for working professionals to earn this all-important credential - and now, a C.W. Post M.B.A. is more affordable.

Academically qualified new students who begin the Saturday M.B.A. this September will receive a one-third tuition discount on their first two courses -- a savings of more than $1,700. To qualify for the discount, incoming students must have a GMAT score of 500 and a minimum 3.25 GPA in their last degree earned and meet other criteria.

The Saturday M.B.A. program is designed for people who work full time. Each class runs for five consecutive Saturdays, from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. with a 1/2 hour lunch break. Students can complete the degree in 23 months.

"The Saturday classes at C.W. Post were a huge benefit," Ng said. "When I started the program, I was working full-time, raising an infant and getting an M.B.A. Without those Saturday classes, I might not have been able to earn my degree."

The C.W. Post M.B.A. is accredited by the world’s top business accreditation agency, AACSB International-the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, and is listed in the Princeton Review’s “Best 290 Business Schools.” In addition, the C.W. Post M.B.A. program offers world-class faculty and professional advisement staff.

"What I learned at C.W. Post gives me a different perspective on the management side of things," Ng said. "I know the issues from the technical side, but with the M.B.A. you see many issues from the management side, in terms of finance and budgeting. You get a lot of 'aha' moments. The professors are very knowledgeable. Many of them work in the industries they're teaching, and they're reputable in their fields."

The Saturday M.B.A. is one of more than 70 master's degrees and doctorates offered at the C.W. Post Campus at 720 Northern Boulevard in Brookville. For more information, visit www.liu.edu/cwpost/mba/saturday or call the program office at (516) 299-2100.
