C.W. Post Chef Cooks for Athletes at Olympics

Gold medal in cooking? Sean Morrell is whipping up dishes for the world’s greatest athletes at the Summer Olympics.

Sean Morrell, the executive chef of the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville, N.Y., is serving up fine cuisine for the elite athletes at the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing, China.

Morrell is part of a team of international chefs serving 800 recipes to 65,000 athletes, officials and media from nearly 200 countries. In all, more than 3.5 million meals are served – that’s 28,000 meals a day just to the athletes – in the Athletes’ Village, Media Center and 20 other locations around the city. The Olympic Village Dining Hall alone is the size of three American football fields.

Morrell is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University. Dining services at C.W. Post are provided by ARAMARK, a leading provider of food services to colleges, universities and preparatory schools.
