School of Health Professions and Nursing Open House on Oct. 15 U.S. Department of Labor projects 25.4 percent increase in healthcare jobs
Brookville, N.Y. -- As the U.S. population grows, so does the demand for quality health care. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, jobs in the health sector -- including public and private hospitals, nursing homes, residential care facilities and individual and family services -- will grow by 25.4 percent and add 4 million new jobs.
At the School of Health Professions and Nursing at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, undergraduate and graduate students can study in a wide range of graduate degree programs in the healthcare field including medical biology, nursing, nutrition, forensic science, health information management and radiologic technology.
Prospective students can learn more about a career in healthcare at an Open House on Wednesday, October 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Tilles Center Patron's Lounge. Representatives from the office of Admissions, Bursar, Registrar and Financial Aid will be on hand to discuss classes, curriculum, registration and scholarship opportunities.
Bachelor degree programs include clinical laboratory sciences, health technology, forensic science, nursing (for RNs only), nutrition, health information management and radiologic technology. Graduate programs include medical biology, clinical laboratory management, cardiovascular perfusion, family nurse practitioner, nursing education, nutrition and dietetic internship (Advanced Certificate).
Students benefit from intense classroom studies, and didactic, laboratory and clinical experiences and participate in internships at well-known hospitals such as North Shore University Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center as well as at senior citizen facilities, pharmaceutical companies and many others.
