Assemblyman Rob Walker to Speak at C.W. Post as Part of Tour to Stop "Brain Drain"
Brookville, NY – New York State Assemblyman and C.W. Post alumnus Rob Walker (’97) will visit the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University on Monday, April 13, 2009 for one of three Long Island regional presentations of the NYS Assembly Minority Task Force “RemaiNY” to explore the exodus of young people from the state.
For many years, New York has faced the flight of its young people from their homes. Often called the “brain drain,” this phenomenon is especially acute among college graduates and young professionals. Living in New York has become prohibitively expensive in most areas, and many of the affordable areas are experiencing economic hardships.
Assemblyman Walker’s mission is to stop this “brain drain” by providing solutions that will restore New York’s ability to retain the best and brightest of this generation, and generations to come.
The public is invited to attend.
The presentation will be held in the Pioneer Room in Hillwood Commons from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
