C.W. Post Launches New Café and Convenience Store

Brookville, NY - The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University has expanded its on-campus convenience store, the Ocelot in Pell Hall, to meet the needs of busy students.

The Ocelot Provisions on Demand (P.O.D.) Market combines the corner store with the style of a modern market. The new store also will feature a new café-style seating area where students can relax, meet-up, or study between classes. A vintage C.W. Post photo mural will adorn the main wall of the new space, featuring four students at C.W. Post’s front gate in November 1954, the inaugural year of the campus.

The Ocelot provides a selection of fresh, healthy and convenient ‘grab-and-go’ options for any meal of the day, including: hot breakfast sandwiches, burritos, wraps, sushi and salads, vegan foods, fresh produce, baked goods, coffee selections, as well as traditional convenience store fare.

“Our research told us that students were looking for fresh prepared foods and everyday essentials in one convenient location on campus,” said Mark Walker, Associate Vice President of Convenience Retailing, ARAMARK Higher Education. “Our goal was to develop a highly-customized solution that delivers quality, convenience, variety and value.” The C.W. Post Campus is co-launching the Ocelot P.O.D. with ARAMARK Corporation, the campus food supplier. ARAMARK Corporation, a world leader in providing professional services, is ranked No. 1 in its industry on FORTUNE magazine’s list of “World’s Most Admired Companies.”

Store hours are Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday closed.

The store opens September 8, 2009, the first day of classes for the Fall semester. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held in mid-September.
