Bernadette Peters Opens Tilles Center Season October 3

Brookville, NY - Bernadette Peters, one of Broadway’s brightest stars, will open Tilles Center’s 29th season in style on Saturday, October 3 at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. The evening will feature songs from her highly acclaimed roles on the Great White Way, along with numbers from her Grammy Award-winning albums. Together with a full orchestra, shell sing standards, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and Stephen Sondheim in a triumphant return to Tilles Centers stage. Peters appearance at Tilles Center is sponsored by Roslyn Savings Foundation.

Peters stunning performance at Tilles Center’s 25th Anniversary Gala in 2005 brought audiences to their feet again and again. The star of such celebrated musicals as Sam Mendes record-breaking revival of Gypsy, Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George and Into the Woods, and Annie Get Your Gun, and so many others, continues to shine on Broadway, as well as in movies and on television. Recent appearances on hit shows such as ABCs Greys Anatomy and Ugly Betty, highlight the breadth of her talent and ingenuity.

Tickets for Bernadette Peters Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 8 p.m. at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts are $100, 70 and 45. Single tickets become available on Friday, September 11 at 1 pm (prior to September 1 they may be purchased as part of the Showcase Series or a Create Your Own subscription).
