Spooky Lecture to be Hosted at C.W. Post, Just in Time for Halloween

Brookville, NY — Get into the Halloween spirit on Wednesday, October 28 with a thrilling lecture by suspense novelist Thomas Fahy. Dr. Fahy, an associate professor of English and director of American Studies at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, will present “In Cold Blood: Understanding Horror in Art and Culture” from 11 a.m. to 12 noon in the Hillwood Commons Lecture Hall on the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. In the lecture, Dr. Fahy will discuss the philosophy of the horror genre as it relates to society as a whole.

The lecture is part of the 2009 Provost Distinguished Lecture Series, which is hosted throughout the Fall semester at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, located at 720 Northern Blvd., Brookville, NY.

Dr. Fahy’s lecture will be followed by a book signing for his novel, “Sleepless,” in the Hillwood Commons Lecture Hall.

Dr. Thomas Fahy has published 11 books, including three horror novels and his forthcoming essay collection, The Philosophy of Horror (January 2010). He has studied literature and music throughout his life and received undergraduate degrees in both fields from the University of California at Davis. He earned his Ph.D. in literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is an associate professor of English and Director of the American Studies Program at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.
