High School Students Tackle Worldly Issues at C.W. Post
High School Model U.N.
C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University

January 25, 2001 - Approximately 120 students from 11 schools across Long Island, Brooklyn, Westchester, and New Jersey will gather for the eighth annual High School Model United Nations on Friday, January 26 at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.

The students will represent 84 countries in conflict resolution sessions, a General Assembly, and Security Council meeting. They will tackle such issues as Liberalization of Barriers to Trade and Investment, The Role of Multinational Corporations in Upholding Environmental Standards in Transitional Economies, Increasing the Efficacy of U.N. Peacekeeping Operations, Enlargement of the Security Council, and An Attempt for Lasting Peace in the Balkans.

The one-day conference will take place in Hillwood Commons Lecture Hall, Hillwood Cinema, and Great Hall on the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University at 720 Northern Blvd. (Route 25A), Brookville, NY. Hillwood Lecture Hall and Cinema are located in Hillwood Commons; Great Hall is located in the campus Administration building. For additional information, please call the C.W.
