| More than 400 singers performed
Mozart's Requiem in C.W. Post's Tilles Center for the Performing
Arts as part of the worldwide "Rolling Requiem" commemorative
concert. Choral groups included Long Island University-C.W.
Post Campus Chorus, Long Island Choral Society, Masterworks
Chorus, Long Island Philharmonic Chorus, Great Neck Choral Society,
and Huntington Choral Society. The 60-minute performance began
at 8:46 a.m., the time of the first attack on the World Trade
Center, and was followed by a four-minute period of silence.
The concert was a very moving tribute to the lives lost on September
11. |
