C.W. Post 1996 Anniversary
Celebrations
Nutrition: The C.W. Post Undergraduate Nutrition Program celebrated
its 10th anniversary on May 16, 1996 with a dinner attended by faculty,
nutrition alumni and students. The evening also served as a first step toward
forming the Alumni Organization.
Campus Ministries: In celebration of its 25th Anniversary, the C.W.
Post Chapel changed its name to the Interfaith Center. Campus Ministries
also welcomed Josh Gutoff as the new campus rabbi. Now all major religions
are represented on campus.
Athletics: To mark its 40th anniversary, the Athletics Department
hosted a reunion and dinner-dance on Homecoming Weekend (October 19). The
department also published a 40th Anniversary Yearbook, highlighting the
history of all of C.W. Post's sports teams.
Paralegal: In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Paralegal
Studies Program of Long Island University has launched a new Weekend College
schedule.
Nursing: The Department of Nursing, which offers an upper level B.S.
degree for RNs, is celebrating its silver anniversary.
Chamber Music Festival: 1996 marks the 15th anniversary of the C.W.
Post Chamber Music Festival. This program attracts close to 100 students
of college, graduate and pre-college ages who come to C.W. Post to study
and be coached by the faculty ensemble, The Pierrot Consort, and guest artists.
The Festival also includes a series of six concerts.
