C.W. Post Student Transfers
Poetic Images to the Small Screen

When Sean Healy published some poetry in his college literary magazine several years ago, he had no idea how many doors that achievement would open for him. Since then, he has incorporated his poetry into many of his studies, including his senior project in video production.

The New Hyde Park resident, who graduated from the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University on Sunday, May 9, was recently chosen as a finalist in a new poets' competition, and has given poetry readings at local college campuses. Most of his work is written in free verse, sometimes with an internal rhyming structure. His senior project is a 10-minute video based on four of his works, each poem reflecting the view of a different character caught in the same conflict.

The New Hyde Park native and graduate of Chaminade High School received a B.A. in broadcasting from C.W. Post's Department of Communication Arts. After a visit with family in Ireland, Healy hopes to land a job as a television scriptwriter, which would allow him to combine his love for language with his broadcasting skills.

C.W. Post is a campus of Long Island University, one of the nation's eighth largest private universities in the country. C.W. Post's 11,000 students can choose from a broad range of undergraduate and graduate offerings, as well as extensive continuing education programs. C.W.
