Conversational Traveler Course Offered by
C.W. Post's Intensive Language Institute
Just in time for summer travel, the Intensive Language Institute at
the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University is offering conversational
traveler courses in Spanish, French and Italian. Participants will be speaking
the foreign language of their choice effectively and effortlessly after
just 16 hours of instruction.
Courses will be held at the C.W. Post Campus on Northern Boulevard (Route
25A) in Brookville from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the following days: Saturdays,
June 12, 19 and 26, 1999; and Saturdays, July 10 and 17, 1999. Cost for
the 16-hour program is $185.
The C.W. Post Campus developed the Intensive Languages Institute to
help professionals, travelers and college students effectively communicate
with speakers of other languages. The Institute offers vocabulary enhancement
courses where students can learn 80 commands and create more than 1,000
useful sentences from just 39 core words. Courses also focus on practical
travel related vocabulary and phrases and cover historical, cultural and
culinary essentials. Additional courses include Commercial French, Italian,
German, Japanese and Spanish and cover business protocol, vocabulary necessary
for work related forms and documents, and correct spelling and punctuation.
