Free Seminars Offer Opportunities
for Legal Nurse Consultants
Individuals interested in learning about the career and employment opportunities
of legal nurse consultants are invited to attend free Career Seminars hosted
by the Legal Studies Program at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University
in Brookville, NY.
The seminars will be held Tuesday, July 27 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, August
21 at 9:30 a.m.; and Tuesday, September 7 at 7 p.m. All seminars meet in
Tilles Center, room W-1 on the C.W. Post Campus, Northern Boulevard (Route
25A).
Participants can meet with faculty members and learn about the responsibilities
of a legal nurse consultant, employment placement services, financial aid,
course content including computer (Lexis) training, admissions requirements,
and personalized scheduling.
The one-year legal nurse consultant program begins on September 21,
1999 and runs through August 10, 2000. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
Highlights of the C.W. Post program include small classes taught by
practicing attorneys and legal nurse consultants; computer assisted legal
research; individual career counseling; personalized internships; lifetime
employment assistance; and financial aid.
The Legal Nurse Consultant Program is approved by the American Bar Association
and is in compliance with the revised Guidelines for the Approval of Legal
