C.W. Post Now Offers On-line
Textbook Reservations for Students

August 10, 1999 -- Students at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University no longer have to spend time searching the aisles of the campus bookstore for their textbooks. They can now conveniently reserve them on-line at www.bkstore.com/liunet. Within 48 hours of submitting a form on the web, students can pick up and pay for reserved books at the bookstore.

"The bookstore's on-line form is simple to use and saves time," said Jim Woolsey, C.W. Post Bookstore Manager. "Once a student emails his or her form, our employees locate the books for the student and gather them into a neat package for easy pick-up."

Students applying on the web should have their class schedule handy as the one-page form asks for information such as: the department the course is offered by (i.e. English, math); course number; section number; and instructor's name. Students can also select either "new" or "used when available books."

"I think it's a great and convenient idea," said Michelle Welsh of Seattle Washington, a C.W. Post theater major. "It will certainly cut down on the time I usually spend scanning the aisles for the many different books I need for my classes."

FRESHMAN PREPACK: The bookstore has also introduced a pilot program for new freshman called the Freshman Prepack Program. During the summer, all incoming freshman were mailed book order forms which they can fill out and fax or mail back to the bookstore. Their books will then be packaged and available for pick-up beginning August 23 at the bookstore. Or, if they are residential students, they can pick them up on Move-in Day (September 5) at their residence hall.
