C.W. Post Creates $3,000 Scholarship for Siblings
Beginning with the 2000-2001 academic year, the C.W. Post Campus of
Long Island University will implement a new scholarship program which
allows siblings of previous and current Long Island University students
to receive financial assistance. To be eligible, a sibling of the new applicant
must be currently or previously enrolled at any of the six campuses of
Long Island University. Each year, a limited number of undergraduate students
will be selected and awarded the $3,000 annual Sibling Scholarship.
"We recognize the financial concerns of our students and their
families, which is why we designed a program that can help them achieve
their educational goals," said Gary Bergman, Associate Provost for
Enrollment Services at C.W. Post. "This scholarship is very rewarding
for parents who are concerned about the future college expenses of a younger
child."
The Sibling Scholarship Application is available in the C.W. Post Admissions
Office by calling (516) 299-2900 or emailing enroll@cwpost.liu.edu. Students
must also annually file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
and the CSS Profile Application prior to the student's first year of enrollment.
All applicants must meet the regular admissions requirements and must apply
by March 1. Both new freshmen and new transfer students are eligible. The
alumnus can be from any of Long Island University's campuses: C.W. Post,
Brooklyn, Southampton, Brentwood, Rockland or Westchester.
