Speech and Hearing Clinic Earns National
Accreditation
The J.M. Ladge Speech and Hearing Center at the C.W. Post Campus of Long
Island University has been awarded special accreditation of its professional
services in speech-language pathology and audiology by the American Speech-Language-Hearing
Association (ASHA).
According to Dr. Joyce A. Rubenstein, director
of the Speech and Hearing Center, only 350 of the nation's 2,500 clinics
and centers are specially accredited by ASHA to provide speech, language
and hearing services. "ASHA reviewed our staff, clinical practices
and procedures, records and reports, and physical facilities and equipment,"
said Dr. Rubenstein, a resident of New Hyde Park. "Following this evaluation,
the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association found the program met or
exceeded standards and further commended the program on its leadership,
staffing, expansion, and quality improvement programs. The center will continue
to be reviewed yearly to ensure that the stringent, nationally recognized
standards of ASHA are maintained."
The J.M. Ladge Speech and Hearing Center at C.W.
