The Hutton House Lectures Annual Benefit Presents A Cabaret Performance

The Hutton House Lectures Scholarship Fund of the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville, NY will host a cabaret-style performance by Barbara Bliss and John Mercurio on Thursday, April 27, 2000. The event will be held in the ballroom of the North Shore home of a member of The Hutton House Lectures Advisory Board. Entertainment, hors d'oeuvres and wine will be available between 5 and 7 p.m.

Barbara Bliss has sung with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra in Washington and the Jersey State Opera, and has performed her cabaret act at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. Her partner and accompanist, John Mercurio, is a composer and lyricist whose work includes an original musical, A Tailor's Tale, developed at the O'Neil Musical Theatre Conference last summer. He has also composed the score of an original ballet performed at Jacob's Pillow and in Philadelphia.

Tickets for the concert are $100 and are partially tax deductible. Proceeds will be donated to the scholarship fund created by The Hutton House Lectures Advisory Board in 1992 to provide financial assistance to non-traditional students working toward a degree at C.W. Post. For more information about the Barbara Bliss-John Mercurio benefit, or to make reservations, call 516-299-2580.
