Free Conference on NYS Export Trade & Investment


Renowned export trade experts will be available to help Long Island and New York City businesses gain insight into New York State export assistance programs at the conference, "New York State Export Trade & Investment Outreach Seminar," on Tuesday, May 16, 2000 at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.

The International Trade Research Institute of the College of Management at C.W. Post, and the Long Island Association's World Trade Council are sponsoring the event. It will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Gold Coast Room, C.W. Post Campus, Northern Boulevard (Route 25A), Brookville, N.Y.

  • Dr. Pearl Kamer, director of the C.W. Post International Trade Research Institute, will provide an analysis of "Current Business Conditions in Major Foreign Markets."
  • Kelly Jones, senior vice president & deputy commissioner, Empire State Development Corporation, will be the featured speaker. He will provide an overview of the programs of New York State's International Division.
  • Jeff Abramowitz, director, International Investment Empire State Development Corporation, will discuss how to get the most out of trade shows and trade missions.
  • Norm Weingart, senior vice president, Communications Specialties, will discuss how his company has profited from New York State's export assistance programs.

The conference is free and open to the public. Contact the International Trade Research Institute at (516) 299-3017 to reserve your space. A complimentary breakfast will be served. Participants will be able to consult individually with ESDA representatives following the presentations, as well as pose questions during a question-and-answer session.
