Instrumental and Conducting Master Classes at C.W. Post Chamber Music Festival


June 27, 2000 - Master classes in violin, viola, cello, piano, flute, woodwinds and guitar will be given by members of the Pierrot Consort and guest artists at the C.W. Post Chamber Music Festival, scheduled for July 17 to August 4 at Long Island University's C.W. Post Campus in Brookville. Classes will be held on Tuesdays, July 18 and July 25, and Thursdays, July 20 and July 27, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

A series of five conducting master classes with the Festival's guest conductor, Miriam Burns, is scheduled for Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on July 17, 19, 24, 26 and 31.

C.W. Post and guest faculty for the master classes are as follows:

  • Dale Stuckenbruck - violin
  • Veronica Salas - viola
  • Maureen Hynes - cello
  • Heawon Kim - piano
  • Susan Deaver & Karia Moe - flute
  • Miriam Lockhart & Matthew Sullivan - woodwind classes
  • Harris Becker - guitar ensemble

The C.W. Post Chamber Music Festival, a three-week intensive session scheduled for July 17 through August 4 at C.W. Post, will include chamber ensembles, festival chamber orchestra, a concerto competition, guitar ensemble and a series of concerts. The Festival will feature faculty artists, the Pierrot Consort and guests, and will focus on the performance of instrumental and vocal chamber music.

The C.W. Post Campus is located on Northern Boulevard (Route 25A) in Brookville, New York.
