Win a $20,000 College Scholarship to C.W.
Post Annual Essay Competition to be held November 22
The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University is hosting an essay contest
in which winners can receive up to $20,000 in four-year tuition scholarships.
The competition is open to high school seniors and college transfer students
who are interested in attending the C.W. Post Campus in the Fall 1998 semester.
The annual Outstanding Scholars Essay Competition will be held Saturday,
November 22, 1997 on the C.W. Post Campus located on Northern Boulevard
(Route 25A) in Brookville. Students will be asked to choose from two essay
topics. Essays will be judged by faculty from C.W. Post's Honors and Merit
Fellowship Program.
Winners will receive $5,000 annual tuition scholarships renewable for
up to four years (three years for transfer students) for full-time study
at the C.W. Post Campus. Scholarships can only be used by students who are
enrolled in the Honors and Merit Program at C.W. Post.
To compete in the Outstanding Scholars Essay Competition, students must
have the application signed by a high school counselor and returned to the
C.W. Post Admissions Office by November 14, 1997. High school seniors must
have a minimum SAT I composite of 1100 and an 88 GPA; transfer students
must have a minimum of 32 transferable credits and a 3.2 GPA from an accredited
institution.
