Cancer Research Scientist and Disability Services Advocate Among C.W. Post Honorary Degree Recipients

World renowned cancer research scientist Kathleen M. Foley; chief executive officer of the National Urban League Hugh B. Price; president emeritus of the National Center for Disability Services Edwin Martin; and Long Island philanthropists and cancer research advocates Joseph and Tita Monti will receive honorary degrees at Long Island University's C.W. Post Campus commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 10.

The commencement speaker will be Hugh B. Price, president and chief executive officer of the National Urban League, a highly respected social activist organization that helps the disadvantaged living in the nation's inner cities.

Dr. David J. Steinberg, president of Long Island University, will confer the honorary degrees at ceremonies which begin at 9:40 a.m. on the Great Lawn. Honorary degrees are awarded to individuals who, through their perseverance, dedication to their field, and commitment to community, serve as role models to students.
