C.W. Post Marketing Students Win National Awards
The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University Chapter of the American
Marketing Association brought home an unprecedented three awards from the
AMA's national awards dinner held in Dallas, Texas in April.
At the 20th Annual AMA dinner, C.W. Post was presented awards in three
categories: Outstanding Projects, which is presented to those collegiate
chapters that conducted outstanding programs and special activities during
the academic year; Outstanding Fundraising Activities, which is presented
to collegiate chapters that has demonstrated unique fundraising activities
throughout the academic year; and Outstanding Alumni Relations, which recognizes
collegiate chapters that have made commendable efforts in building alumni
relations by sponsoring alumni-student mentorship programs and internship
opportunities.
C.W. Post was one of only a handful of American colleges to receive
more than two awards. "This was accomplished as a result of hard work
by two board members of the American Marketing Association's C.W. Post
chapter: Antonetta Zoida, president, a resident of Oceanside; and Keri
Trachtenberg, vice president, a resident of Woodbury," said Cathy
Black, faculty advisor of the C.W. Post AMA chapter and a resident of Hicksville.
Representing C.W. Post at the conference were incoming president Vance
Bronleben of Seaford, Renee DeStefano of Hicksville, and Evie Spence of
Rosedale, Queens.
The marketing department at C.W. Post is part of the College of Management,
which prepares students to perform competently, ethically and professionally
in both the public and private sectors. Within the School of
Business, students specialize in either finance, management or marketing
- all of which focus on aspects of domestic and international business
operations. The College of Management is home the Center for Financial
Markets Research, International Trade Research Institute, the Logistics
Management Institute and the Long Island Women's Institute.
