Alcohol and Other Drug Education and Abuse Prevention Class Information:

  • This course is a disciplinary sanction assessed to students who have been found responsible for a violation of Campus and/or Residence Life Alcohol and Drug policies.
    The purpose of this course is to educate students to make better, more informed decisions regarding alcohol and other drugs. The course covers related Campus policies and New York State laws, as well as information pertaining to the physical, psychological, and social effects of alcohol and other drugs. 
  • Students should sign up with the sanctioning officer upon receipt of their sanction letter
  • In order receive a satisfactory completion of the class, students must: arrive on time, complete any related assignments fully, and participate in the session.
  • Any Assignments given at the class will have to be received by 5 p.m. on the Monday following a Friday Class and Friday following a Wednesday Class. Return all assignments to the Office of Residence Life.
     
  • Students must attend the Alcohol and Drug Education Class. Failure to complete the two session class will result in further disciplinary action. A Disciplinary Block or Hold will be put in place on the student’s account which will result in the inability to register for upcoming classes, drop or add classes etc. Failure to complete the mandated class is paramount. To sign up for a class or to reschedule, you should contact any Residence Hall Director/Hearing Officer or the Office of Student Affairs.
