Adelaide was well known as a breeder of fine dogs. Her interest in dog breeding truly began here on the estate with the operation of the famous Hillwood Kennels of Scottish Terriers. She was one of the youngest judges in the dog show ring. Later in life she was known as a breeder of Fox Terriers, Great Dames, Airedales, Scottish Terriers, Standard Schnauzers and Dalmatians.
Adelaide’s talents were not limited to dog breeding alone. She was a fine equestrian and breeder of prize horses on the estate. In 1993 her colt, Woods of Windsor, competed in the Preakness Race held at Pimlico Racetrack in Baltimore, Maryland.
